Wow! Summer flew by. It's hard to believe it's the end of August and 2 of my boys are already in school again. Wesley started 3rd grade and Jonah started 1st grade this morning! In one more week, my little Logan will start kindergarten! How did they get so big? The morning went really well; everyone was up and ready without any drama, arguing, or rushing! Why can't every morning be that way? Josh and I walked them to school and they seemed excited to be there. Jonah was a little nervous; especially since he'll be gone all day for the first time. I hope they love it and that the rest of the year goes by as smoothly as today did!

Logan's Firefighter Birthday Bash
Logan is such a poser! He'll smile for any camera! Such a cute boy!
The cake set ups for the friend party (above) and the family party after (below).
Logan got first dibbs at the pinata! Unfortunately, even after all the kids had a turn, it still hadn't broken so Josh had to rip it open!
Wesley trying out part of the firefighter training course he helped design for the party. He was such a great helper!

So it's been about a week since we celebrated Logan turning 5 years old! The party was a success. I think I am finally recovered! There were about 15 kids running around my yard spraying water, swinging at a pinata, eating cupcakes and basically living it up. I hope all the kiddos had fun. The party was a lot of work, but it was worth it. To quote Logan, "That was the awesomest paty ever!" I only let the boys have a birthday party with friends when they are 5 and 8 (because it is so much work), but I do try to make it memorable! It is hard to believe my Logan is already 5; wow how time flies! I hope he knows how much I love him. He is such a silly little thing (he reminds me of myself)!

Explanation of Donald Duck comparison!
So last night Cathrine and I were talking about the kids. She mentioned that the anger issues Jonah displays remind her of Donald Duck cartoons! So I looked up some pictures today and sure enough, it is like looking at my son! Now we plan to document his outbursts and we bet there will be striking similarities for everyone to see. Watch for pictures soon!

Logan is turning 5 years old
Wow, how time flies! Logan is going to be 5 on Tuesday. As every birthday comes and goes for our kids, I like to take some time with Cathrine and look back and review the years that have sped past us in a flash. So, since Logan's birthday is next, I am looking back at the past five years. Many questions pop up in my mind. Have I always been there for Logan? (If you ask him his answer would be NO) He is so blunt about everything. Am I a good Dad? (I hope he would say YES) Have I been a good example to him? (I think he would say YES) Although Cathrine may disagree with him; you know us boys are always causing Mom to stress out. Can I be a better father to him? (This is where I need help from Cathrine; there is always good advice from people who step away and watch from a distance). This is food for thought. More to follow as Cathrine and I plan his "Firefighter Training" party.
